Who TeacherPaddy is for
TeacherPaddy is for classroom teachers in Ghana's basic schools:
- Kindergarten: KG 1 and KG 2;
- Primary: Basic 1 to Basic 6;
- Junior High School: JHS 1 to JHS 3 (Basic 7 to Basic 9).
The planning problem it solves
Before and during every term, teachers prepare a Yearly Scheme and a Term Scheme for each subject, and then a Weekly Learner Plan for every subject they teach each week. Each plan has to follow the curriculum, with its strands, sub-strands, content standards and indicator codes, and fit the class, the timetable and the school's calendar. Done by hand, that is many hours of writing every week, much of it copying codes and wording from curriculum documents.
TeacherPaddy does the structured part of that work so teachers can spend their time on the teaching decisions.
How TeacherPaddy works
- Your class. You add your class, its subjects, your term dates and your timetable, and optionally your school's area and facilities.
- Schemes of Learning. TeacherPaddy spreads the curriculum for each subject across the school year (the Yearly Scheme) and the term's teaching weeks (the Term Scheme). These are made from the curriculum without AI.
- Weekly Learner Plans. For a week, you choose the subjects and the indicators to teach. TeacherPaddy drafts each lesson for the days that subject is on your timetable, with a starter, main activity and reflection, and checks the plan before it is saved.
- Your decision. You read, edit and download every plan. Nothing is final until you are happy with it.
Why structured planning matters
A plan is only useful if it is accurate. TeacherPaddy keeps the curriculum's own wording and codes, and plans in the same order the curriculum is built: year, term, week, lesson. Each level is worked out from the one above it, so a weekly plan always points back to the scheme and the curriculum it came from. That makes it easier to see what has been covered, what comes next, and where a week needs to change.
What TeacherPaddy is not
TeacherPaddy is an independent planning tool. It is not a government publication, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Ghana Education Service or the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA). Plans it drafts can contain mistakes, so teachers should always check them and follow the official curriculum and their school's guidance.
